Attorneys Ronemus & Vilensky Win Million-Dollar Settlement for Wife Whose Husband Died in Fire

After 12 years of vigilant litigation, attorneys Ronemus & Vilensky have won a million-dollar settlement for the wife of a husband who died in a fire while doing contract work for a recording studio that was inhabiting a building space in the Bronx illegally.

The studio hired the 29-year-old handyman to do cement work in the space’s basement without ventilation. He was working with a highly epoxy material that caught fire and rushed to the hospital where he died of smoke inhalation.

The dogged efforts of the attorneys at Ronemus & Vilensky paid off, holding six parties responsible for the young handyman’s death, including the landlord. The court awarded their client $1.25 million.

Not only was the recording studio in the space illegally, but the owners were also stealing electrical power from the establishment next door to run the studio.
